If you want to support the park without donating a specific item and pay by check, make your check out to HCS Butterfly Park and mail to HCS, PO Box 564, Keene, NH 03431-0564

Please read all of the donation and engraved message information below.
It will help you understand how the park works and how you can participate!

Important Donation Information
  • Your entire purchase/donation is tax deductible.
  • Individuals and families are welcome to team up in purchasing a park feature.
  • Donation amounts include item cost, shipping, installation, engraving of your message, and a contribution to the Park’s Endowment For Ongoing Maintenance. To date we have raised $60,000 for this endowment, with the goal of raising $200,000.
  • If you have questions or would like help in selecting and ordering, we’re happy to assist. Call the HCS Development Office at 603-352-2253 or email us at butterflypark@hcsservices.org.

Important Engraved Message Guidelines
  • The Park Planning Committee, composed of community representatives, has concluded that allowing dates in engraved messages would make the Park seem like a cemetery. Please understand that we want this to be a family park which celebrates life and loved ones, and that having birth and death dates in engravings would not be appropriate for the setting.
  • Unfortunately we cannot memorialize pets. There is limited space in the Park, and we want it to be for celebrating living people and family members and friends who have passed away.
  • We welcome businesses and organizations to contribute a feature to the Park, but we must ask you to refrain from marketing or promotional language. For example, “Serving the Region for 25 Years” is fine, but “The Area’s Best Restaurant” would not be appropriate.
  • We would be happy to help you word your engraved message if none of the examples in the catalogue seem helpful for the message you want to express.
  • Please contact the HCS Development Office for advice or with any questions at 603-352-2253 or email us at butterflypark@hcsservices.org.

More Information About the Park and the Park Endowment

In creating this park, with help from donors like you, Home Healthcare, Hospice And Community Services (HCS) has a long term contract with the City of Keene. We create and maintain the Park to the highest standards, but the property belongs to the City. The Park is open for use (picnics, family reunions, wedding pictures, etc.) by anyone in this region, and to reserve a time and date you should contact the Keene Department of Parks and Recreation at 603-357-9829.

Our endowment is primarily for park maintenance and repair. If, however, the payout (usually 3 to 4%) in any given year exceeds the cost of maintenance and repair, the surplus payout funds will be used for patient care. If you have any questions about this, please contact the HCS Development Director at 603-352-2253.

Home Healthcare, Hospice and Community Services (HCS) is Medicare certified, and licensed by the State of New Hampshire. HCS programs are provided to all service eligible individuals without regard to age, race, religion, sex, handicapping conditions, marital or economic status, except where constrained by specialized funding. HCS is a United Way Agency.
