Fare Information
The Friendly Bus rides are available on a donation basis. A $2.00 donation per trip is suggested.

City Express fares are $1.00 a ride; discount tickets are available.

Para Express rides are $2.00.

Tickets can be purchased on any City Express vehicle or at the Transportation Office of Home Healthcare, Hospice and Community Services.
Mobility is key to independence for everyone. Home Healthcare, Hospice and Community Services offers several transportation programs to assist people to get to medical appointments and other daily activities, including other social services, shopping recreation, employment, and wherever people need to go. Our dispatchers are on hand from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm during the Keene State College academic year, and 7:30am to 5:30 pm during the summer and semester breaks, to answer questions or help you to get where you need to go.
  • The Friendly Bus provides assisted transportation for seniors (60+) in the City of Keene. Periodic trips are scheduled for outlying communities. The Friendly Bus requires reservations one day in advance.
  • The City Express, Keene's Bus for Everyone is public transportation in the City of Keene. The City Express operates buses and the trolley Monday - Friday. A route operates year round in the City and a College/Community Shuttle Route operates to Keene State College, Riverside Plaza and Monadnock Marketplace during the college's fall and spring semesters. City Express buses now have bike racks so people can bike and ride to their destinations.
  • The Para Express is complimentary paratransit services for individuals with transit disabilities who live within 3/4 mile of the City Express route but who are certified as not able to use the regular City Express service.
All vehicles are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act requirements, including lifts, pull cords and other assistive devices.

Transportation services do not operate on the following holidays:

  • 4th of July
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Day after Thanksgiving (City Express will operate)

Home Healthcare, Hospice and Community Services (HCS) is Medicare certified, and licensed by the State of New Hampshire.
