|HCS Names New President/CEO
Cathy Sorenson, BSN, COS-C is President and CEO of Home Healthcare, Hospice and Community Services. Cathy has more than twenty-five years of nursing and health care management experience.
Cathy began her career at HCS in 2010 as Director of Clinical Services. In 2011, she was promoted to Chief Clinical Operating Officer, overseeing all home care divisions as well as the Castle Center Life Enrichment Program. In November of 2013 she was named President and CEO by the HCS Board of Directors after a nationwide search, following the retirement of Barbara Duckett, who had held the position for thirteen years.
Cathy holds a Bachelor of Science, Nursing degree from the University of Maryland at Baltimore School of Nursing. She will complete her MBA in Health Administration from Franklin Pierce University in the spring of 2014. She holds a Certificate in Home Care Management from Suffolk University and is a Certified OASIS Specialist. Cathy is also a graduate of the Institute of Healthcare Improvement QI Scholars Program.
Upon assuming the leadership position at HCS Cathy said, "Barbara's legacy of innovative leadership and forward thinking has positioned HCS as the preferred provider of visiting nurse, hospice, and community services in the Monadnock region. It has been my privilege to work with Barbara, and I look forward to leading HCS into the future as we navigate the challenges of providing person-centered, high quality, affordable healthcare to the people in the communities served by HCS."
