Silver Angels 2025: A Season of Kindness for Homemaking Clients at HCS

This holiday season, HCS’s Silver Angels (Silver Angels of Cheshire County) gift-giving program made a meaningful difference for homemaking clients across our community. Thanks to the generosity of our community, heartfelt gifts were delivered to clients who rely on HCS homemaking services, offering not only material support but a powerful reminder that they are seen, valued and cared for.
This year, 62 Homemaking at HCS clients shared their holiday wishes, ranging from cleaning supplies and clothing, to puzzles, games and heartfelt prayers. Our anonymous and generous community donors responded with swift action, gathering and delivering gifts ahead of the holidays. The gifts went beyond fulfilling material needs. They provided comfort, connection, and a sense of emotional wellbeing that can be especially meaningful during the holiday season.
One homemaking client shared how they felt “…so lucky to get anything this year. Without [HCS], I wouldn’t be opening anything.”

This Year’s Impact at a Glance:

  • 62 Homemaking at HCS clients’ wishes fulfilled
  • Dozens of anonymous community donors
  • Thousands of dollars in material, and immaterial, gifts provided such as:
    • Air fryers
    • Nonperishable food
    • Baked goods
    • Socks & coats
    • Puzzles & Games
    • Holiday cards

Stories that Share the Warm & Fuzzies

Jane* received everything on her wish list and expressed her deep gratitude for her donor. The gifts allowed her to focus on buying much needed food, easing financial stress and brightening her holiday.
Bruce* requested prayers for his recently deceased wife, along with a few material items. When his Home Support Provider delivered the gifts, including a heartfelt holiday sympathy card, Bruce was moved to tears. He shared that he could not have received a more perfect gift, and the moment became a powerful reminder of the human connection at the heart of homemaking services and the Silver Angels program.

Why Silver Angels Matters

Since 2021, the Silver Angels of Cheshire County program has supported HCS’s mission to provide services that help individuals live at their optimal physical, emotional and social well-being. Like homemaking services, Silver Angels combats isolation among older adults and individuals with disabilities, especially during the long, cold winter months. Homemaking at HCS goes beyond light housekeeping; it provides companionship, support and dignity, helping clients thrive in their own homes.

A Season of Gratitude

We are deeply grateful to Silver Angels of Cheshire County, volunteers and staff member who made Silver Angels 2025 possible. Your generosity brought warmth, joy and hope to those who need it most.
