We’re looking for compassionate individuals to become Hospice at HCS volunteers!

Hospice Volunteers are an essential part of the care team at Hospice at HCS, offering comfort, companionship and support to individuals and families facing end-of-life journeys. Working alongside hospice-certified nurses, medical social workers, and spiritual counselors, volunteers help provide emotional support, caregiver respite, and a reassuring presence wherever the patient calls home – in their house, nursing facilities and assisted living communities. The upcoming training series will prepare new volunteers to take on this meaningful role and make a difference in the lives of others when it matters most.

“Being a Hospice volunteer has truly enriched my life,” said Joely Fanning, a seasoned Hospice at HCS Volunteer. “I have met so many wonderful people in my six years of volunteering.  I enjoy spending time with individuals and their families. Even though they are going through one of the most difficult times in their life, they are compassionate and caring about everyone and everything around them. I cherish the memories that were created sharing stories and laughter during visits.”

The six-week fall training session will be held at Home Healthcare, Hospice & Community Services at 312 Marlboro Street in Keene beginning March 13, 2026. registration is due February 27, 2026. For further information or to register, contact Lorraine Bishop, Hospice Volunteer Coordinator, at 603-352-2253 or at lbishop@hcsservices.org
