Home Healthcare, hospice & Community Services is deeply grateful to the Northeast Delta Dental Foundation for its generous support of Healthy Starts at HCS and its investment in the oral health of children and families across the Monadnock region.
Through their support, Healthy Starts was able to thoughtfully design, build and implement a dental education program focused on prevention, early intervention and access to care. As part of this initiative, nine Healthy Starts staff members attended Enhancing Oral Health Care Access with Community Health Workers, a specialized training that strengthened Healthy Starts team members to address oral health needs through education, prevention and timely referrals. Healthy Starts very own Heather Riley became licensed as a Community Health Worker (CHW) by the State of New Hampshire, with additional staff planning to pursue CHW credentials in the coming year. The training equipped Healthy Starts Family Support Specialists with evidence-based knowledge and practical tool to promote early oral health prevention, reinforce healthy routines, and identify concerns earlier.
These efforts align with Healthy Starts’ core focus on prevention and whole-family wellbeing. Thanks to Northeast Delta Dental Foundation, Healthy Starts at HCS is better positioned to support healthier outcomes for children, one smile at a time.
