HCS invites you to join us in supporting Meals on Wheels for NHGives!
For ten years, NH Gives – an initiative of the NH Center for Nonprofits – has been New Hampshire’s statewide celebration of giving. In just 24 hours each year, thousands of donors come together to support local nonprofits, raising millions of dollars that strengthen communities across the state. Every donation matters, and together, donors have helped nonprofits grow programs and make a lasting impact.
Your support provides essential care for your neighbors – a nutritious meal, social interaction, and a daily safety check.
$10 provides a nutritious meal for a senior who depends on the kindness of strangers for the basics.
$50 provides meals for a senior for a week.
$100 provides meals for two weeks
$250 provides meals for a month.
To an older adult, Meals on Wheels means that you will have a safety check from a caring driver. Someone who you know will be there every day to make sure you are all right and who will let a trusted contact or family member know if you are not doing well. It is peace of mind for the older person and for their family members who may live at a distance.
Meals on Wheels means a “hello” at the door each day. A friendly visit from a driver who may bring in the newspaper or the mail with the meal. Someone who will chat about the weather or sports for a quick minute.
