April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month.  Throughout this month, Healthy Starts at HCS is talking about what Prevention IS…

Prevention IS... SUPPORT

~provision of basic needs ~community resources ~having support nearby

Children flourish when their parents and caregivers have access to basic needs SUPPORTS.

Stable housing, heating fuel, food, gas to get to school and appointments—they help protect the family and offer children a warm, nurturing place to grow.

It is simple: concrete SUPPORTS for families = stronger New Hampshire.

SUPPORT is prevention

SUPPORT is providing access to community resources so parents can devote more time and energy to their children’s growth and well-safety.

When we support NH parents, we are supporting NH kids.

SUPPORT is near.

New Hampshire’s network of Family Resource Centers (FRCs) can help your family find the right supports and services at the right time. No matter what your circumstance, all caregivers need SUPPORT.

You prevent by seeking SUPPORT

Concrete SUPPORTS can be family, friends, neighbors, or they can be more tangible items such as clothing, food, housing, transportation, healthcare, or financial assistance and planning.

Knowing where to turn in times of need keeps the family strong.
